Sometimes you wait to read a book because you don’t want to be disappointed. So far this book was breathtaking and my hesitation is unfounded. The first story, The Merchant and the Alchemist’s Gate is a wonder of layers. Amazing atmosphere, narration and tone. I recommend this story to everyone. Some short stories build to an enjoyable end but this is enjoyable throughout. And I’m only 17% in.
