I'm glad he's going on a redemption arc and becoming a better person. Good for him. My question is, though, when did she fall in love with him??? While he was insulting her? While he was yelling at her? While he was being rude to her? I'm glad he's a better person after falling in love with her, and that's all well and good for him. But I just don't see what she sees in him.

Isn't this the bare minimum?

I'm not enjoying this. This feels like we're romanticizing shitty behavior as long as they're hot.

I fundamentally don't like Grayson. He's been consistently rude, inconsiderate, mean, and sexually motivated. I don't like it.

And also the weird, suggestive innuendos? She only finds the innuendos "hot" because he's attractive. If he was ugly, she would treat it as harassment. I hate it here.

Only after he's made her cry multiple times (multiple!) does he acknowledge that he's been rude. I genuinely cannot see how this is going to redeem itself. And her shitty friends too!

"Well since he's hot, clearly you guys are romantically compatible."

I feel like that's a Meghan Quinn special. Friends enabling shitty behavior.

I've decided to persevere through this book because I have Thoughts (trademark) on this. Grumpy-sunshine works when they're actually a grump and a positive person. Not a shitty human being and a nice person. Being rude is just being rude. Grumpy is not rude.

Goal of this month is to never read the same genre twice in a row!

You know I'm stressed when I'm reading multiple books a day. And just romance. Oh, the situation is dire.

Whoops, I've barely read any books this month. I've just been watching a lot of TV.

My goal for the month is to read one nonfiction book. Any recs? Self-help or psychology or something about the essence of people would be best.

It is definitely time to make some progress on my insanely long TBR.

No romance novels for the next week for me. It's time to lock in >:|

Am I the only one who wants to bring back a table of contents? Why did we stop doing those? They're actually super helpful to look at, and I like knowing where all the chapter breaks are.

Valentine's Week!!!

My tbr finally reached 1500 books, and so it's definitely time to finally make some headway on it. Wish me luck.

Why would she use being engaged as an excuse when she only got engaged after meeting Luther? After feeling things for him? After not wanting to accept Henri's offer? Diem is actually so infuriatingly annoying, I am fuming.

If I have to hear about Blessed Mother Lumnos one more time ...

I actually cannot with this.

This is actually such an intense exercise in trying to hold on to my brain cells. I was super generous with my rating of the first book, but I genuinely cannot believe this. I need to keep reading in the same way that you can't help but look at a car accident on the way when you're driving. This is a trainwreck.

This book is not for the weak. The prologue itself is 37 pages.

Thoughts on Romantasy as a new genre?? I'm not sure whether it needs its own category?????

I miss the YA angels and demons era of the 2010s. I need some good YA fantasy right now.
