Bold. Not for the faint of heart. Suitable for those familiar with the Frankenstein and all the melancholy, pain, and death that entails.

I’ve completed Jaycee Weaver’s “This and Every Christmas” and I have to say it is my favorite book of hers yet! (And that is saying a lot because I really loved her contribution in Something Borrowed.)

I enjoyed the unique storyline (jumping between past and present), the building of the relationship, and the cheesy Christmas traditions of the family.

Ever read a book that makes you go hmmm?

And it’s lines like this that keep me reading: “...if God had enough creativity to throw red and blue and purple and green all together with a bunch of other colors and call it a rainbow, that He might have a way of making the thunder and rain meet the sun and create something beautiful?”

A slow simmer.

The tension is mounting.

The story has yet to fully hook me.

An intriguing setting, sympathetic characters and top-shelf writing. With gems like this, “Love sacrificed, whereas treasure was hoarded.” how could the story disappoint?

Having a hard time putting this one down.
