The author's thoughts are interesting, but each essay could be cut down by about half. Still, fun to read some work from a former Jezzie.

Rereading this with a friend. I'd forgotten how sweet and gentle the opening is - so full of the kind of empathy that's really needed right now.

Hmm, I just got to the twist. I'm not sure how I feel about something like that being used as a twist in an novel, but I don't think I've read any of Picoult's work before. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and keep reading, but we're on kind of thin ice here.

I got sick and wasn't able to go to the book club meeting for this book, but it's a good read so far! I really appreciate the representation, and a stepmom who isn't a monster. Looking forward to finishing this up at some point.

I picked this up after starting the Netflix series. So far it seems like maybe the series is a loose adaptation, but the book itself is pretty interesting. I do wish the summary were more accurate, though.

I'm always surprised by how this fairly well-plotted political intrigue plot ended up in my sci-fi, but I genuinely think the overall prequel story is better than people give it credit for.

Sweet bippity, this is really good! Super funny, moves quickly, and I got a ton of compliments at work when I revived a modern take on my 90s mall hair in homage to the fashionable ladies in this group.

This isn't bad so far. And Obi-Wan showed up out of nowhere, so that's always fun.

I struggle a bit with memoirs that aren't chronological but some of his stories are very well told.

Byrne reading the audiobook is lovely, but it's nonlinear and moving a little slowly. Tell me about Stigmata, dude. That's why I'm listening.

There is so much extraneous plot here and I'm getting bogged down in the details. This is one of those books where I really should read it quickly but it's on the boring side, so I don't want to. Oof.

Great googly moogly, I don't remember James Luceno being quite so enamored with space jargon. Someone also gave him a thesaurus for Christmas and that combination is making this quite difficult to read.

So far this is both not quite what I expected and better than I thought it would be. I'm looking forward to seeing how things shake out!
