If you have to tell me the sexual tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife multiple times... It isn't. Telling me there is tension and creating tension are two different things.

Woo boy. This book is trying so dang hard to be funny. The heroine is super judgey and hates sex toys. The hero is the kind of guy that seems like he'd be afraid of tampons . The heroine's kid has a lisp that is grating. This is going well.

Oh Lord. This part of our history (late 1800 - early 1900) is making me feel sick. Mass murder of large predators in national parks and other lands 😭😭😭.

No new information here. I realize this book is two years old but all of the examples are truly outdated - what happened in cyber crime in 2013 is ancient history now.

After falling in love with the first one of these the second is disappointing so far. It's like the author took the things I loved about the first book and threw them out the window.

Girl get the marbles out of your mouth and stop whispering. I cannot stand muttering which is what this audiobook sounds like

I think it is interesting that while in the one point of view the other point of view reads the lines for their part (ex. while in the girl's POV the male narrator reads the male lines).

"My knee hurts so I'm going to sexually assault my doctor to distract myself"

Our hero has introduced himself by jacking off in the shower thinking about himself playing sports. That's... promising. Our heroine has introduced herself with a conversation with her BFF about being a 24 year old virginity - which she views as "her cross to bear". OH GOOD. It's going to be like that.

Hopefully it won't really be like that. /sigh.

So far so good! Love the characters. Love Jake putting Jose in her place about the strip club (nothing wrong with a quality strip club!).

Now you might be wondering why I'm reading another Kristen Ashley book when I haven't loved any of the ones I already read. It's because the woman can write. Her stories are always well written, plotted, and interesting. I just can't stand her alpha asshole male characters. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.

Problem: the author is trying to get me to believe that little boys are mean to little girls because they like the girls. True or not, this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

Problem: every female in this book who is under 70 and not the heroine is at best a characterture and at worst a sex doll for one of the main male characters.

Ew nipple piercings in the dark of a night club without visually lining it up, gloves/hand washing, or sanitizing the area first.

If this girls hair is recognizable then why hasn't someone dyed it or cut it or hell, gotten her a wig, the entire book?
