I’m reading this for a witchy book club. Unfortunately, I think there’s an overwhelming amount of negatives to it. I get that it’s a metaphysical book, but its somewhat anti-psychology and psychiatry view is pretty heinous. It includes an anecdote about someone stopping their meds that helped with trauma nightmares “to enter the darkness,” and framed those dreams coming back as a positive. Like…wtf

I really like the book so far! It's a real page-turner, and the author writes action scenes that are super fun to read. However, the flashback at the beginning lasted a little too long for me. Also, because of the large amount of characters with little development present after the flashback ends, some of the character deaths were not really emotional for me. Those are really minor things though.
