I’m reading this for an academic book review, but I already have a main critique (which will hopefully be addressed later one): how can you call it collective “amnesia” when it was a conscious decision to forget? Amnesia in an unwilling process, this was closer to a conscious, selective forgetting (I think)

I’m in shock how telling/ psychic this book is. It got republished in 2017, and I only wish Dr.Tatum could’ve witnessed what happened post-George Floyd, or with the Jan. 6 insurrection.

As I start the next chapter in La Divina Commedia, I think about the awe and anger I feel towards Dante. He was absolutely brilliant with this work. That being said, I’m really frustrated at the way he (Dante the Author) places people in the commedia. Why punish Helen for a war she did not start? She is eternally doomed to the 2nd level of hell for her “lust”. Anyhow, I will keep you all updated.

I finally have time to sit down and read + annotate, which is super fun!
