Memory lies, it plays its own games, layers one image upon another that might be true or not true, overtime, the layers, dissolve, and become like smoke…

Already loving Eddie.

Why is it inevitable that people must lie? “ People lie for all kinds of reasons. They lie to hurt people and to help people, and sometimes because they can’t bear the truth.”

Mary is a strange character…I do feel sorry for her though. I remember knowing teens that have to be the parent to their siblings and their parents.

This is so sad and difficult. I have been procrastinating but can no longer ignore this. I did not want to read this but Colson is coming to town and Denver Reads chose this book for the city’s book club pick.

Poor Elwood…we live in an unjust world.

“In order to see, you have to know how to look, and you have to know what you’re looking at.”

Frog and bird “There are two points of view in the world: the frogs perspective and birds eye view. Any point in between just leads to chaos.”

“We experience time and space in a matter that is primarily unconscious.”
“Our sense of space results from our ability to move”
“Place as an aspect of space pause time… it is ecstatic notion”

Human time is divided into stages as movement through space is broken up by place – pauses, such pauses, anchoress within the flow of time

Starting to understand after almost halfway through! Very different read for sure.
