this is supposed to be a book about hurricanes and yet i've had to endure more nausea-inducing writing from the perspective of a mother fetishizing over soft baby hair while she's actively dying in a hurricane. I HATE BOOKS ABOUT MOTHERHOOD.

i feel like i am going insane. every time i read a book about a mother there's a line about baby's milky smell. i am docking a star every time i read this WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL

it is really hard for me to root for a character who blames a driver for hitting her when her dumbass was in the street and who is obsessing over a fuckboy but i guess that's just me

not so bad so far, but the audiobook narrator pronouncing appalachians as "appa-lay-shuns" is making me insane.
