she talked about sealing the baby's lip cracks with aquafor after every kiss, why are you kissing your baby on the mouth. i really want to be delicate because i think this book is coming from a true place for an author but respectfully, the way motherhood is written is vile.

I really want to read this because so far the depiction of grief is accurate but "milky baby breath" has cropped up and been described as "Heaven" so I'm going to crash out. (Long-term hater of books about maternity, here.)

marking this here because once AGAIN we have a writer fetishizing smelling children's hair and specifically called this child's hair "clean and funky" and the best smell. i beg of authors to stop doing this. minus 2 stars.
