This is more like Herriott's books than some others coming out. Very fun.

All you women will enjoy this - bloody though parts are.

I'm not crazy about this book's subject, but it's so well written - and that's why I read. Recommend, but be prepared.

Pretty good character study.

A deeper story of the 1800's Irish and their coming to America and then the Kennedys. Lots of actual history so far.

This is not a goofy book. Mel Brooks started out with Sid Caesar and Carl Reiner doing hard weekly writing of Your Show of Shows. Pressure! His family, his Brooklyn start, his personality shine through. I am loving this. You might too.

You think you know the name Lafayette? Ha! You think you know the French Revolution?
This is a well written history lesson. 5 years in solitary, a huge party tour in the USA to celebrate his help in the American Revolution, what a life. Wow!

This really describes Archie/Cary very well. It is well researched and kind of fun.

Though extremely detailed it is very interesting. Written by the curator of Satchmos museum. So he should know. Lots of pot, women, and you know - music!!

I love this - and all of Follett's historical fiction. Reading 1000 pages goes pretty fast with these. middle ages.

To my surprise, and sometimes dismay, Elin includes South Bend, IN in this book, as the hometown of some of the folks. Notre Dame, Howard Park ice rink, Barnaby's (like we eat pizza 24/7)...blah blah. Good story.

I am a graduate of Miss Porter’s. If I sat around moaning about this style or that rich thing or place, we’d be out. This is a place where women change the world. Hope something good actually happens.
