As much as I am enjoying the sex scenes, I am glad we are getting a bit more tension and story.

I hate that feeling that we are basically waiting for the rabies to set in for Cujo (poor good boy). Along with getting to know the people who will very likely be his victims.

This book is taking a bit to grab me. I am not sure how I feel yet about Simon as a character. Being slowly educated about the history of the kingdom's relationship with our antagonists- Simon is describing how bored he is, and wondering when we are going to get to the exciting part of the history, and I can't help but wonder the same thing.

We are finally getting exposition. I am right with Ethan and wanting answers to what is going on.

Outside of the hand drilling this is so fun.

"Sure, he threatened the lives of people I love. Blackmailed me into this union."

The next paragraph
"But he was a skilled lover, and my body is beginning to recognize his talent,"

Depending on if you look at this as a genuine romance or pure sexual fantasy. This could be seen as exceedingly frustrating or part of the appeal of fantasizing about being with a dangerous man.

I think this couple is strangely refreshing. For one thing is they are kind of subversions of common romance tropes in this kind of story of arranged marriages. They find each other unbelievably hideous, are both on the same page with duty. But they still enjoy each other's company. I find their interactions adorable and am cheering for this couple to really fall in love.

I am glad to see some signs of development in their development. BUT I can't wait until they open up to each other.

Haven't read this in years. I am looking forward to revisiting this.

Just finished the book that inspired one of my most hated Rom-coms. And I didn't hate it. I actually kind of liked it.
