I am loving this book. The history, the politics, the people. Matthew has become the main character of this, so much more than Diana. His past is beautiful and dark, but still lovely. I may not understand some of the things from the past like a historians might but Harkness portrays it beautifully.

Jade city is the type of book that you start and feel nothing towards but 50% your actually invested and care about what happens. So at 75% I'm like please don't kill Hilo and Andy but you can kill shae cause I really don't know her purpose and her internal conflict is annoying to me, and now Wen, I didn't really like her because it seem like fonda lee was trying to hint that she was like lan's ex.

There is something off about his book. The premise was interesting to me. A mortal raising an immortal baby while known nothing about immortals, reminded me off Elvi's accidental turning. But the characters seem rough and jagged, and barely there.

I've had a few laughs. The characters are quirky and the dialogue is really good

Well its not the best book I've ever read but it has an interesting plot that I can see developing into a great story. Some parts were indeed funny. Who wouldn't love Cosey. But to be honest the first book didn't get me begging to read the next.
