It’s been a busy time for the past few months. My muse retuned from wherever she’d been hiding, and Ivbeen in writing mode ever since.

At the end of March I began work on a series of connected novellas, which tie-in with the Eld Island mystery series.

In short, Brooke Morningstar’s grandparents, both survivors of Auschwitz’s-Birkenau, showed up one evening, told me to sit down and “Listen up!”

Normally, I devour this series the week of release. Here it is, the end of August, and I'm barely into Chapter 3. It's not the book - it's 2020.

When Eve & Peabody got to the morgue and Morris was getting out of his PPEs from the autopsy, I broke down and cried. It's too close to home for me, I'm married to a Mortician, who's dealing with COVID-19 deaths every week.

This one is on pause for a while longer.

I'm a bit disappointed, at least in myself. Like most J.D. Robb fans, I await anxiously for the next book in this series, and generally devour shortly after its release, to begin again the wait for the next book.
When this one was released, I was in the midst of starting a new business, & just didn't have the time available to read all day.
The pandemic hit, & everything closed. I just can't get into it. I'm sad.

I recently acquired another copy of this classic - possibly the only text on Tarot written by someone of Romani ancestry.

As I often do, I'm rereading this title. I'm in the midst of studying Tarot History, and so find myself referring back to things I've previously read, and may have not noticed certain things.

Ashleigh Mitchell is finished with Mean Justice: A Town's Terror, A Prosecutor's Power, A Betrayal of Innocence
A painful read, and a painful reminder of the abuses of the time.

Ashleigh Mitchell is 40% done with Dark Witch (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, #1)
Opening set in 13th century Ireland. Potato for dinner. Nope, not known in Europe until the 16th century. Nore should know that. Threw me out of engagement for the remainder of that section. I can suspend disbelief eell enough, but some facts are facts.

After a decade of searching for an affordable copy of this, I located one online from a German booksellers. Delighted with the price, 25 Euros, compared to the hundreds of U.S. dollar U had seen the years, I jumped at it.

My book has now arrived. As may be expected for a two-decades old paperclip d book, it's not in perfect condition. My sadness with it, is that ps 5-18 are missing. Back to seeking.
