Day 15 was all about boundaries. There was an abundance of wisdom in this chapter.

I really enjoyed Day 7 as well. I made a lot of annotations, as there were many things that stood out to me and that I learned. There were a couple of sentences in this chapter that I did find confusing. I’m not sure if I just don’t have access to that wisdom yet or if the writing was just clunky in a couple of spots. Perhaps both.

I definitely underestimated how powerful and relatable - in a variety of ways - these stories would be. I am grateful to everyone who shared their stories, Lynn Zubernis for compiling and editing them, and everyone involved in the making of SPN. I learned a lot from SPN about resilience, perseverance, bravery, and fighting for something bigger than yourself, and it is terribly clear that I’m not alone in that.

Day 5 is my favorite so far. It included many themes/lessons in common with what I just read in the “12 Rules for Life” overture. Additionally, referenced in this chapter is the quote “A little nonsense now and then, is relished* by the wisest men” (Roald Dahl). This quote is also featured by Karen Cooke in her essay in “Family Don’t End With Blood”.
