Really struggling through this book. The magic system is really cool but the writing is just not there for me. I’m not sure how to explain it properly but it feels like things are happening just because the authors wants it to be that way and it doesn’t necessarily feel realistic. Going to put it down for a bit and maybe return

I got this book from a colleague and I don’t know why I’m reading it. I don’t like this authors writing at all. But now I need to know what happens.

I have been reading a lot of different genres since I got back into reading last year, but reading this book makes me realize that horror is the genre that has my heart. I’ve been neglecting the King family recently in search of new authors and new genres but in all honesty if I could read Stephen King & Joe Hill for the rest of my life I would and I would be so happy. Absolutely nothing compares

Chapter 29. SO GOOD

Something about this damn family man. Only 8 chapters in and I never want to put this down

Having a great time. Jumped to the audiobook for my drive to work yesterday and was so excited to hear Simon Vance narrate.

Enjoying this so far but there was one scene that was just extremely unrealistic & confusing. Def a similar vibe as The Secret History

never seen the movie so no idea where this is going but I think I know exactly where this is going.

This is kinda sexist. I hope that’s the point

I hate to give up on a book so easily but I’m already skimming. Why cant I find a well written thriller

I can already see why this book & this author are highly rated.

Fine so far. The writing is kind of clunky and there is so much going on right now it’s hard to keep everything straight. The multiple points of view doesn’t help.

This is fascinating

I love this series

Not sold on this book quite yet… don’t think I’m a fan of the writing.

I half read my books and half listen to them on audiobook. I think this might have to be a full audiobook from me because this narrator is phenomenal
