I did not foresee myself reading fake fanfic about a made-up school shooter this evening but here we are

this is such a scary book. “He told me that I should use Tumblr. We both watched Glee and he said there were lots of people who liked Glee on Tumblr and I should try using it.”

at the recommendation of Nora who is not on Goodreads. sources say this book is really resonant if you were an avid Tumblr user in the early to mid 2010s. I’ll be the judge of that.

I learned about Marguerite formation when I went on a Wikipedia deep dive on sperm whales the other day!

kind of obsessed with this. I’m glad it’s no longer flip flopping between time periods and we’re spending multiple “chapters” in a row with him in the whale. very scary and disgusting stuff.

I also didn’t get the Citizen Kane reference but at least I’m not the CEO of a corporation that significantly influenced the 2016 election and am now planning to run for president myself with no political experience and only evil ideas in my brain

something that struck me about the Women’s Day event is that oftentimes these women-in-business focused events talk a lot about the balance of motherhood and working which is important and should be spoken about rather than silenced, however it does reinforce the idea that motherhood is a default stage of a woman’s life and I really despise that sentiment

I cannot imagine being as dedicated to my work and career as this woman. business and leadership type stuff bores the hell out of me. this is nothing against the book of course, it is written really well and I’m having fun reading it (look how much I’ve read in just two days!) but this specific lifestyle is just my personal nightmare. she’s pregnant on top of all that too. lord have mercy
