Lynnie is starting The Secret of Secrets (Robert Langdon, #6)
I probably would’ve read this as my over-the-holidays book, and one of my book clubs picked it for January, so… This is a long one, even for Dan Brown. Glad I went ahead and started it. Typically, I stayed up way too late reading. Seems to be a different focus; this time on consciousness rather than mysterious religious bad guys and symbols. In other words, I’m already way into it.

A friend who is less generous with 5 star ratings than I loved this book, and that’s enough for me. But not until Chapter 7 was I drawn in enough to not pay attention to the VERY long sentences that I would never have allowed as a copy supervisor. For some reason, the arrival of Christy turned the tide for me. Damn the run-on sentences and full speed ahead!

Lynnie is starting Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom
A book club pick. I love books about cults, so I’m all in.

Reading before bed, so slow. Main character is a lesbian nun who loves sleuthing. All in, of course.

This is the right book at the right time. I keep rereading chapters because I don’t want to finish it.

I’m reading mostly fiction these days to avoid life lessons. But here they are anyway. Sheesh.

Lynnie is starting Three Years on the Great Mountain: A Memoir of Zen and Fearlessness
I am liking this a lot. Although my spirituality was informed by Rinzai Zen, I’d never heard of this school, which includes martial arts training. Yes, at the moment, I do want to go to Hawaii and become a Zen monk warrior.
