Absorbing, but also a bit slow so far. The author's holding something huge back as backstory, repeatedly alluding to some tragedy that happened to the narrator's brother. The novel begins with a news article telling us that 15 years after the events of the novel, the narrator's husband dies-- but it's only on page 97 that the first real "threat" or sign of danger is presented to us. Which strikes me as a bit late.
