Super glue doesn’t work like this. I’m being asked to jump through non-sensical plot hoops and I’m drowning in overwritten description. An open wound on a palm doesn’t need to be described as open lips once, let alone repeatedly. It’s gross and distracting. This is going nowhere but I can’t force quit another book this week.

This book just took a turn so hard and unearned. I’m angry and hate reading the rest of it.

I get the impression I’m supposed to like Gabriel or hope he and Beth get back together. Gabriel is a jackass with zero redeeming qualities, Beth is stupid for entertaining him a second time and Frank is far more patient that I would be.
