Don’t fear, I haven’t abandoned my Gothic literature deep dive BUT since I’m about to leave for Hawaii I’m putting it on hold for a few more lighter, summery, beach reads. I love watching and doing CrossFit & have always loved Annie as an athlete so I’m excited to read her memoir!

Continuing my Rick Riordan read through! I’m reading the books in whatever order Mike Schubert reads them on The Newest Olympian podcast so this one’s next! I was happily surprised that Libby had an audiobook version to listen to, but still going to get a copy for my shelves because I gave mine away years ago.

Got this from the library and was trying to put it off until the fall but was too excited so I’m reading it now! Frankenstein is maybe my favorite classic of all time, so I’m looking forward to reading this and then perhaps doing a Gothic/horror deep dive for the fall 👀

DNFing this one for now. Unfortunately I don’t really like the way it’s written and am struggling to want to read it. The information itself is interesting but I’m just not hooked by the writing style!

If I don’t pick this back up within a year I’ll probably be getting rid of it :/

Moving on to the next book in my Ali Hazelwood catch up! After this book I think I have 4 left? I’m not counting all the novellas unless they’re published in physical form since that’s my preferred reading method!

I know I said I was taking a break and it’s been less than 24 hours BUT I’m so close to completing my Shadowhunter read through that I’m chomping at the bit to be able to join the discourse so here we are

I totally forgot I’d read this already! I love Carrie Fisher so when I saw this at the library I knew it would be a great break before jumping into another series.

Since the end of Lady Midnight made me mad and since it’d been over a month without Ali Hazelwood, I felt it was time to pick up a book where I know exactly what expectations to have and that I KNOW I will enjoy 😌

Have been putting off reading this for so long but…it’s time lol

Now that I’ve finished the first two series, I’m reading the rest in publication order! The Dark Artifices is the next trilogy, and then I have two more short story collections before starting the final trilogy!

Another library book about a niche interest of mine, Shakespeare! The introduction already has me hooked and I’m so excited to read the rest of this!!

Shoutout to the public library for sending me this sign when I was feeling particularly unhopeful about my job search and thesis 🫶🏼

The thesis reading continues! I have wanted to read this for a while and thought it would be a great example of different styles of narrative writing, since I’ll be doing a lot more of that after finishing my research proposal. Really appreciating this one so far!!

Another thesis-related read. Due to the nature of this book, I do not plan to rate it but I will share thoughts after finishing it

Ok for those who know me this may seem odd because I’m not very religious. I’m reading this for two reasons. 1) I think people use the Bible a lot as justification for certain actions (good or bad) so I want to know what the text actually says from an intellectual standpoint. 2) I’m on my spirituality discovery journey and, having been raised Christian, I’m interested to see what sticks!

This is the last of the graphic novels I picked up from the public library on my last book hunting trip! After this it’s full send back into Shadowhunters and thesis reads 🫡

Needed something completely different before moving to the next Shadowhunter novel because otherwise I’ll spend the whole time thinking about Tessa, Will, & Jem (I’ll do that anyway). Had this checked out from the library already. Revisiting a classic in a new format for a fresh start without investing in brand new characters just yet seemed perfect!

We have another thesis book! I’m planning to write an autoethnography for my thesis and want to re-familiarize myself with the strategies & formatting!

Anddd we’re back to my Cassandra Clare reading journey! I’ve read this one before back in 2018 (and I think once before that?) but for some reason I remember absolutely nothing and did not finish the series. So I’m excited to read this book and excited that, after this, I will be done with re-read and on to the Cassandra Clare books that are brand new to me!
