Not as fantasy-y as I expected it to be (probably why I'm enjoying it tho hahah)

Fantasy isn't my genre but let's see if I like this one

I'm only 80 pages in but this book has already got me kicking my feet, tearing up and laughing. IN 80 PAGES.

I don't think I have ever come across a book character that felt so innately me. Sometimes I'm reading Ivan's thoughts on how he interacts with people and things around him and think fuck is Sally Rooney watching me? which is funny because the book literally introduces him as the socially awkward character

I literally started this today and almost half way through, I literally couldn't put it down. Very excitedd

I understand what people mean when they say murakami can get you out of a reading slump. His way of storytelling is so immersive, especially when I'm coming from reading Dostoevsky where he introduces 100 characters that are just difficult to follow.

But, I don't like how women are portrayed. I'm only 1.5 books in for murakami but all the female characters seem to be written to be a sexual object/written for men
