This is ok so far, but I can't help feeling like I might enjoy the whole thing more if it were written by (or in the style of) Carl Hiaasen.

Hmm. Already employing my most hated trope - when people talk *around* a past event in a way no human actually would communicate. And no, just straight up calling something “The Incident” does not make it cuter.

I'm still not 100% sold on the style, but it's pretty hard to put down.

I'm liking this OK, but I just cannot get past the inherent silliness of the last name Button.

It's finally here! And it's set in a city I've actually visited!

My god this book is torturously slow! It's giving less "slow burn" and more "repetitive bore".

Teen book club selection. Oh boy am I struggling! I’ve never read any of the Percy Jackson series, so I’m extremely lost (I was mistakenly given to understand that this was some kind of standalone deal).

This is cute (I love how Rowell writes dialogue...and inner monologue), but I'm already bored by this gratuitous wrenching.

Tried this when it first came through on NetGalley, but I couldn't get into it. Trying again in physical form. It reminds me of when I was obsessed with the movie Hackers - both the protagonist & the author seem to have about that level of knowledge about computers!

I honestly can't decide if I like this or not! I guess it's cute? But the backbends over trying NOT to call the late night show SNL are distracting.
