Andrew Neiderman needs put into an obliteration machine for crimes against literature.

I guess I'm just the friend who's too woke because I can't get over the way women are treated/depicted in this novel.

To this day, the opening scene of this book is one of the most striking and memorable I have ever read.

I love this series! If you're going to read it, stick to the original 4: Flowers in the Attic, Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday.

You can have a little Garden of Shadows as a treat, but the rest are a male ghost writer who don't quite capture the VCA essence.

I've read the main 5 of this series a million times, and they're FANTASTIC. I will now read the entire 11 book collection, in chronological order, as opposed to order of release date.

Even though I have heard the prequels and adjacent novels are not good LOL

Either a strong 2 star or weak 3 star LOL the writing was so unappealing to me and the plot was not particularly attention holding. But there was a lot of feminist themes and viewpoints that strongly stood out as favorable. And so many lesbians.
