This book is creepy and uncomfortable.

I’ve almost finished listening to this one. I keep getting distracted by other books and the library loan has expired at least four times. Then I go back into the queue. I will finish. Someday.

Ugh, this is dragging already. Hope the double gamma thing happens soon.

Just started the audiobook for this one. I anticipate it will be quite the emotional experience.

This one is interesting but the voices-in-Kate’s-head thing has played out. Enough already.

Dragging. At this point I’m hoping for a fiery wreck that takes them all except Jean Claude.

Think of a book, not terrible and definitely not great. Then have Siri read that book. With all of Siri’s emotion. As in zero. This narrator is awful.

While I usually enjoy Suzanne Downes, and the Decima Watkins story is unresolved from the Lazarus series, this is a challenge because Libby is quite unbelievably daft. Hoping for more Matt Piper, and less of Libby's histrionics.

This one is an enigma. I can see some possible endings and if I've guessed the 'secret' I'm going to be annoyed that I wasted my time. I have a sneaking suspicion that this has already been done before.

This is a slow burn and I am sure I will appreciate the experience once it's over, right??

this is feeling a little drawn out, but I'll stick with it to the end.

Intermittently slow then fast, this book would have benefited from an assertive editor. Hoping the plot settles in and the second half is smoother than the first.

This book has a distinct Sarah Waters feel to it. So far I am enjoying Jane, much in the same way one enjoys Hannibal Lecter (without the icky cannibalism part).

About halfway through - I have no idea how the story will wrap up, the characters are fascinating, and I want this to never end (but I desperately want to know what happened!)

DNF at 25% - boring, flat characters and a dragging story. What a shame.

This is on its way to 5 stars - creepy, twisty good. I am distracting myself while reading by chanting “don’t mess this up” to the author. Precariously perched on the edge; this could soar or bomb. I will regret finishing this book, either way.

I am loving this experience.

I’m torn between reading this in one sitting, to learn what happens to these characters I’ve already fallen a little in love with, or to savor each page, like a disciplined adult. This is my favorite type of book - an epistolary novel, drenched in history, with depth in the characters and enough scenery to make me reach for my passport.

It would be difficult to express how deeply I am enjoying this book. Suffice it to say that I stayed up until 2:00 AM reading and now I’m trying to read more slowly because I simply don’t want this to end. Not a light-hearted read by any means, but Anna Firth finds beauty and joy in her existence despite the sorrow and death that surrounds her young self. I cannot remember a narrator I’ve liked more.

This is slow and painful. Not sure I am enjoying either time period’s story. Plodding along...

I can see why Davies is a Canadian National Treasure. Hard to remember at times this isn’t set in England though... Thus far, Freddy is the most interesting character.

Starting to really like M-M, I’m thinking of poisoning Holly, too!

This one is dragging a bit. Not loving the characters and missing the village folks. Louise Penny seems a bit off-track with this one... maybe she pulls it out in the end?? Fingers crossed!

I'm liking this story so far. Agnes is an engaging anti-heroine.
