In the world of AI, this author was so ahead of what’s possible. I love the short chapters. It’s a perfect read for bedtime!

Toby is still trying to figure out who he belongs to, but along the way is helping many “friends” in the nursing home! Such a cute story.

Toby is a sweet beagle who is brought to a nursing home to bring people joy and so far it seems like it’s not just the old people Toby is having an affect on.

Finally got a hard copy to continue my immersive read and Gods it is so much better when more than one sense is in the book! This one is so much slower than the first, but I’m enjoying the process and along for the ride.

Honor and courage and going against the grain. People can really learn from these brave characters.

Only 30 pages in, but I absolutely love how Kate DiCamillo ends each chapter speaking directly to the reader. Despereaux is unlike any mouse and this book seems to be one of a kind as well!

I love the history of the 1960’s cars and technology and gold old days of keeping busy! It comes along with the threats I heard my parents make to my brothers and I over and over growing up, but the Watson’s are serious this time!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s Ulysses the flying squirrel. This poor squirrel can’t catch a break, but that leads to some interesting characters.

The main character, Kenny, is a do gooder and I can totally relate, but his older brother, Byron, is a trouble maker and a bully. Byron’s actions reveal more about Kenny as he narrates from his perspective. This is what keeps the violence/bullying in the book PG.

I started a new segment called “First Chapter Fridays” with my 4th and 5th grade class to get them interested and invested in a new book. The first 20 pages had my students rolling with laughter and connected with the Watson family! I have to say that I, too, want to read it through now! So here I am on Goodreads starting my road trip!

Off to a great start! I really like the comic that goes along with the novel! This book makes my daughter and I laugh out loud!

E.B.White writes poetically! Every chapter has a sort of melody. Such a beautiful fable. Only one chapter to go…

The story has switched from following Fern to following Wilbur in the first couple chapters, so we are learning much about who these characters are which I’m sure will lead to a beautiful development later.

I’m roped in this creative story telling. The ending I feel is going to fly by. Until then, I’m fired up to read what happens next. If you know, then you caught all my puns, if you don’t, then you’ll just have to read for yourself.

It feels like I’m on the mine train ride at Disney world, but it’s an unpleasant and scary ride with many obstacles and threats and when you get off you have to fight a dragon.

Chapter 1 begins an emotional roller coaster. My daughter gasped, wanted to cry and laughed out loud within 5 pages. This I already knew would be good, but White’s way with words is more powerful than I thought.

I love Violet’s questioning. I know some plot twists are coming because it’s never what you think!

They live by the I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine mentality. You would think that would make a peaceful place to live, but no. Greed is an ugly thing creating foes and a long history of grudges.

Kenny has a new mystery to solve in this sequel. We suspect a witch is among the old friends and she is hiding something!

An enchanting tale so far… Dwarves and Trolls and Elves oh my! Of course the Hobbit and the Wizard too! Magic treasures and unsuspecting settings! I’m enjoying this adventure!

Another great story. Big changes happening for Kenny Rabbit. I loved the perspective of the other half of hello. Good things can come from change as Kenny’s dad said!

I am enjoying a change in genre from what I have been reading lately and I feel like I am taking the opportunity to go on an adventure as well as Bilbo. I definitely feel like there is much more to the book than the author is letting the reader in on and look forward for lots of connections to be made later.

Hope, but to what end? Sometimes you can’t stand around waiting. I’m speechless. This took a turn I did not see coming.

LOVE is dangerous and love makes people do some crazy things.

Change is hard. Uncertain and not everyone adapts well to it. I understand the conflict. I can see both sides (maybe it’s just the Libra in me). Money is power and I’m sure money will win, but what does that mean for Leni and her family? TBD…

Kenny is struggling with an inner conflict and must figure out a solution that everyone can live with (literally in Grahame’s case). However, his time is running out and he must think fast!
