This story of an American Army unit is the first I’ve read that includes U.S. soldiers literally saving 2 Jewish teens who escaped a Nazi death camp.
The book is well written - I recommend.

I stopped reading this because the characters are so unbelievable. They’re stereotypes.
It’s all ideas I’ve heard previously and in other ways, I’ve heard better interpretations & explanations.

2 major issues for me w this novel:
1) not interesting to me
2) I feel manipulated by the author but not in a way that could be amusing: when one sees a “scary” movie & a character enters the haunted house & forgets to close the door behind them, the audience knows something is going to happen. But this author does something similar over & over. *I’m* over this happening repeatedly! So this book is over for me.
