I give up for now.

It’s tiring. I know it’s a rom-com, but the author screams it in each single sentence with funny comparison or metaphor. Each character from 8 to 80 years old speaks (or deadpans) in the same manner and style. Also I see a real aversion to using a question mark.

Ok, I really wanted to like this book, because I hoped it would be as good as City of Thieves or Santi and Thalia’s story. None of that. If the trilogy wasn’t bundled into one book I’d give the first part 2 stars maximum. The heroine has no brain, she’s a doormat and walking libido without personality. Even though Dante represents everything she despises she’s not able to resist the lust. Because that’s all there is.

Damn, another doormat heroine. And Jaye is an overgrown 12 year old. Not sure if I want to continue.

Giving up on this one.

Just started it and it’s like pulling out my teeth. The writing is awful and editing nonexistent.

Not very engaging, plus retrospections always annoy me as they slow down the narrative, which is already slow. Giving it a break.

Struggling with this anthology. Some of those novellas look like bad fanfics.

Otherwise engaged with other stuff I didn’t even notice that the book is finally out. And guess what? There are 3 more to come. I’m super annoyed.

Yeah, I know, I’m a glutton for punishment. But she always starts good with those series.

Struggling with this one. Somehow I cannot connect to the characters nor the story.

This anthology is hit and miss. Mostly miss. I found two novellas of authors I feel like to read more though.

So apparently I don’t have a self preservation instinct and I started with the third part which supposed to be the last. But it seems the fourth part is coming. O, great Cthulhu give me strength.

I give up.

That girl just kicks ass. Have to love her.
