Interesting concept so far - the writing is decent, characters are intriguing, though honestly the least interesting part is Marcus.

Still difficult...why do we have so many possible love interests and pick-me vibes?

It's...tough. I really want to like this, but Meilin is just so damn unlikeable, and the prose is at once too sparse and too much. I'm getting a lot of information that isn't substantive or helpful, and even battle scenes feel dry, dry, dry.
