can't take this book seriously because characters keep talking about living IN long island in towns named insane things like Benedict which would never ever be a name of any town ON long island.

Was reading this on the LIRR and was so engrossed that I lost my faculties and left my phone behind when I had to transfer trains. I realized my mistake in the knick of time and got back on the train I had just disembarked right as the doors closed, though I had already walked a few car lengths down the platform and wasn't sure exactly where I had been sitting. the desire to text this guy i recently dated so he would finally “witness my pain” has shot up nearly 3,000% since starting this book -_- facepalm!

coming out of one of the worst weeks of my life and decided to pick this up. now sitting by greenport marina alternating between carrot cake, book, and knitting a sweet little shawl that i spilled half a mug of coffee on this morning while trying to open the door to my deck and holding essentially everything i’ve ever owned in one hand. thank god wool is water resistant

started this book and got a dramatic haircut all in one day

this would have been a difficult book for me to read 6 months ago and an impossible one a year ago — TW for anyone struggling with an eating disorder/someone actively recovering. So much here is consistent with the struggles I had and while I’m able to find a perverse kind of comfort in the idea that those thoughts and feelings around food were not just my own, it’s also just heartbreaking and that’s it.
