This is great so far but it needed a more judicious copyedit. Lipman uses "prostate" when she means "prostrate" and it makes for an unfortunate sentence about a "prostate police officer."

I'm doing what I never do and giving up on this one. There's way too much going on, it doesn't know what it wants to be, and it's the most annoying bullshit sort-of fantasy romance since The Time-Traveler's Wife.
