Okay yeah I'm giving this another try. In my defense it's WAY easier to keep track of who's who now that I've seen the movies

Surely there has to be an upper limit of how many slurs one book can handle

The Ra'zac's footprints were faint on the eroding snow, but Eragon was uconcerned. It was unlikely that they had forsaken the road, which was the easiest way out of the valley, for the wilderness.

Could you use any more to be verbs??

I did NOT however forget that Paolini blatantly cribs from Dune for the second dragon ever named. The first one cribs from Japanese history so 2 for 2 so far.

There are a lot more dead wives to start this one off than I remembered.

Weird gender essentialism in some of the description - the sound of a river being described as having "high, feminine" and "bass, masculine" notes.

I don't know who told the narrator how to pronounce "montagnes" but it's very wrong and distracting.

This is great so far but it needed a more judicious copyedit. Lipman uses "prostate" when she means "prostrate" and it makes for an unfortunate sentence about a "prostate police officer."

I'm doing what I never do and giving up on this one. There's way too much going on, it doesn't know what it wants to be, and it's the most annoying bullshit sort-of fantasy romance since The Time-Traveler's Wife.

YOOOOOOOO I didn't know Michael Kimmel co-wrote this! If it's half as good as Angry White Men it's going to be amazing. Table of Contents looks promising already.

"The verdict of the High Court was to take the expression literally"...

"Scalia," Sunny said. She meant something like, "It doesn't seem like the literal interpretation makes any sense."

The shaaaaaaade. Definitely didn't catch that one when I was 12.

"Never, under any circumstances, let the Virginian Wolfsnake near a typewriter" okay it's been more than five years because I was definitely too young to understand that joke the last time I read this.
