This is a fantastic read, and it was difficult putting down, just to go to sleep. I would have kept going, but the eyes gave out.

I have seen, on true crime shows, that strange things happen in the Louisiana bayou. Reading this book has convinced me not to ever visit the area, especially alone!

Won this in a Goodreads giveaway, and finally getting time to read it.

I keep thinking, as I read along, that this is similar to another of Poirot's cases. But written by another author, how could it be? Sophie Hannah has definitely gotten Agatha Christie's style down pat.

Is there a mystery being solved, or is it all about getting a cookbook published? I keep dozing off with all the repetition, but I will continue on to find out whodunnit.

Am loving this first book of the series, most especially due to recognizing places mentioned, since I live in the 4 Corners area of the SW. To the author, Rich Curtin, thanks for the memory of Smithy's Golden Steakhouse (aka Rim Rock Diner in the book); hubby and I loved going there and sure miss it. Taken over as Moab Grill and it's no Smithy's!

Now back to reading!

Don't which I'm enjoying more, the main character and his quirks; or all the inferred references to Agatha Christie characters & story names.

I am so loving this book! If it was made into a movie, and I truly hope someone has the brains to do it, it would be a perfect "chick flick". The characters are well written, that you can picture them in person, feel their emotions and want to be their friend; involved in their venture of running a restaurant on the haunted ship, The Queen Mary. Ghosts roaming the ship have their own stories to tell as well.

Halfway through this novel and it's like sitting on pins and needles; I'm developing anxiety wondering what is going to happen next!

Of the entire series, this is my very favorite!

Now I really love Jamie Quinn, she's a #DoctorWho and #Castle fan!!!
