Sundry is on page 28 of 96 of A Matter of Life
Decided to revisit this because it stuck in my mind as a book that made me feel I could write my own graphic novel. I like the mix of narration and dialogue. He doesn't get fancy with the page layout, but I'm engaged.

Sundry is on page 8 of 279 of I Know What I Am: The Life and Times of Artemisia Gentileschi
I decided that so much work and dedication went into this book that I needed to switch from my free e-edition to a hardcopy I ordered from Fantagraphics directly. Looking forward to restarting when it arrives.

Putting this back on the shelf because my Mindful of Race book group chose to read Caste next. Looking forward to picking it up again.

Sundry is starting The Book of Dreams Come True: A Journal of Self-Discovery, Goals, and Manifestation
Wow, did I need this book right now. Our times call for some soul searching, and Donovan reminds us that it's healthy to explore and work toward our dreams. I haven't done all the exercises, but I'm energized by the prospect of refining my goals and making some things happen for myself and others. Donovan's positive and inspiring perspective shines through the pages. Good tonic for creative and other dreaming humans.

Great writing but had to put it on pause. So much sadness about the destruction of lands and people.

Had to press pause. It's good writing and an interesting narrative, but it's a depressing part of our history.

Sundry is reading Berlin, Vol. 1: City of Stones
Very much enjoyed this. Looking forward to the next two books. A larger format would be welcome since the text is small and some of the pictures complex.

Giving up on this one. It just isn't holding together for me. I'm glad it works for so many other folks!

Sundry is reading The Best American Comics 2013
Sadly, I think I'm about done with this series, which I have acquired every year. I used to look forward to finding some new artists that appeal, but that happens less now. This edition is not fun due to the many disturbing images of women. Even the excerpt from the amazing "Habibi" by Craig Thomas was one of the more lurid sections, and one that contained some serious spoilers.

Sundry is reading The Cat's Table
I somehow didn't connect deeply enough with the characters to become really engaged, but l did enjoy a lot of the tale. I'm curious about other books with a similar central structure...of people brought together under some circumstance and each of their stories delved into.
