Why am I having such a problem getting back into this series?! I really loved it, basically chewing through each volume like there’s no tomorrow. But now I’m stuck, again, at the same point in the story...

Not sure how much more I can take of this self centered neurosis pity party!
Didn’t her shrink ever point out her lashing out and hurting others is simply coping mechanism for feeling out of control?!
Get to the point Goth Girl... My interest is running low

I started without reading first book so I’m wondering if I need to read first book. There is obviously history between the two but quasi-flashbacks seem to suffice
Writing is compelling but psychologist in me interferes. Over dramatic “everyone against me” and “no one understands me” very eye rolling worthy
Typical misfit screaming Stop staring at me! But silently wanting anyone to look

Not sure about this one...
The heavy metaphors and ridiculous amount of similes used in every sentence makes it quite jarring to read. I’m already lost in this Purgatory world building and having difficulty remembering who’s who, what their role is on the Team, and why it’s so noteworthy to be a Salvager
Not sure how far I’ll get with this one...

Starting reading this and so far it's exactly what I thought it would be: light fluff and fast fun!

I'm not sure I actually like this book. The writing style is so robotic and stoic. Having the main character (who is narrating) being so removed and distant from his environment really makes it difficult to feel invested in the story.
Kinda boring actually...

I prefer the "action" scenes rather than the "dialogue" scenes -- when the two are just talking, I admit sometimes my eyes glaze over and I need to reread the passage

The "action" scenes (when one or both of the characters interact with an "outsider" (biker at bowling alley, preacher on radio, etc.)) are more revealing, interesting, and enlightening than their philosophical conversations

Intense in how realistic the reactions and situations are! I'm already planning how to bunker up my house!

Officially reading to see how ends. Exhausting how it keeps going and going with obsessive thoughts. At least Saskia knows what's she's doing is crazy and annoying!

I tI'm officially reading this book just to see how it ends... It's exhausting how it builds and builds with all the obsessive thoughts! (Slight spoilers?) At least Saskia knows what's she's doing is nuts! Patrick needs to realize he's on repeat - it worked for my wife, it worked for my ex, it should work with my current. And Ellen - stop trying to NOT rock the boat! Open your mouth and friggin unload your mind!
