And it’s becomes strange tension down the line when you find out everything your nation has done. How do you reconcile the pride you have that has been fed in you since childhood and the atrocities caused your nation and its leaders. And even harder to go against the grain of those who don’t care about the terrible things because of pride and ‘we’ve had it so good in this country, why dare complain’ mindset

It is so interesting how national pride is bred up in us as children. This thing that is no inherently bad, but in hindsight is skewed. We have a young boy so full of pride ready to fight as a Nazi without understanding of who they are and what they do and the atrocities that are about to be caused by their hands. At this age, he’s being indoctrinated by Hilter’s admin for the sake of his interests, not Germany!

He’s annoying me!! She’s not asking for your scarred fragmented pieces that your swept up after your mother abandoned you, she just wants to know that you got a job. You’re a grown man, speak up. Say anything. Build up to sharing your life and past traumas, start by just sharing your present circumstances, if you were truly committed you’d try!

Now the narcotics found in her system, makes them insane, because why! What was the purpose, what was the reason. The explanation was not good enough - they wanted to use her for “status”. What does that even mean?? Honestly super strange scenario that feels pseudo tragic despite how she is acting. “What am I going to tell the boys?” Literally anything or nothing. You weren’t at fault, you’re a victim.

Then she meets a boy who takes advantage of her!! That’s the real issue here, that in her state of grief and intoxication someone took advantage of her and yes it happened in her aunt and uncle’s care, and they responded really poorly. But the bigger wound was caused by this boy, not them.

I hate to say it. But she dragged this thing way too far out. This whole envelop is going to be the reason her aunt and uncle stop trying to sue for custody, but the contents are so horrific it causes bile to rise up in her throat. La-dee-da.
They were crazy and pushed her into being a debutante when she was grieving her mother, not great of them for sure.

He’s annoying me me than she is now - she’s trying; acknowledging the attraction, opening up, flirting and he’s indulging her and yet so caught up in what she deserve and what he can’t give her. Sir, maybe let her decide what she needs from you, but she feels pretty taken care of.

I really like that he’s finding ways to connect with each of the kids on their level and where they’re interests lie.

Cute moment with Liv (Maggie’s little sister), but offering to marry Maggie is way too much for a lady you met two seconds ago.

I do think he doesn’t know them well enough to help them out in anything grand way yet. They are dealing with some heavy stuff.

Her shoving down her grief helps no one. She’s trying to hold it down for the kids, but the longer she ignores her feelings the more overwhelmed she’s going to become. And they need to see from her that it’s okay to be sad.

Her 4 yr old sister has very advanced speech.

O, these aren’t her children!? Noted, the 4 kids she cares for are her siblings - that’s why the pranking and whatnot, she’s not their mom.

So her brother is wonderful.

I really enjoyed this! The pacing, the storyline, the characters, the development especially within familial relationships. There was no spice which I appreciate, but the heat was a little too high. But overall, great book!

Its sucks that she got hurt. But good that she’s had to go to the hospital and the doctor noticed that something was wrong with her hormones. He period should not be causing crippling pain that makes her pass out. Something is wrong.

He needs to have an actual conversation with his coach, because through his anger of being benched, hockey is important to him and has been in his life much longer than Maddie. But I’m glad he’s admitted to himself that he’s in love with her. Swoon.

At your big college age, you’re still bullying girls for their weight and for a man liking them. What’s going on!?!

I’m glad she stood up to them and finally spoke up for herself, but if Aran was there the whole time, he should’ve stepped in before she admitted (accidentally) to being in love with him. Now everything’s a mess.
