Chapters 1-9 were painfully slow, but the book really began to pick up around chapter 15/16 and now I don't want to put it down. Hoping we will get more dimension in the characters as we go on. So far, the author has missed some great opportunities (basically chapters 1-14) to develop the protagonists a bit more and hook the audience.

Chapter 17 and I’ve already planned our move to a remote Scottish village. My husband doesn’t know yet, but I’ve assigned him the role of ‘grumpy local with a secret soft side. No one can tell me this doesn't sound perfect for us!

I’ve never been able to hear British accents before but now Lachlan speaks and I’m suddenly fluent in ‘Hot Scottish Guy’—someone send help or a kilt.

Currently smiling like an idiot at this book, and I regret nothing.

Nothing says summer romance like mutual trauma and unresolved grief in a rental cottage. Also, I'm here for all the sarcastic remarks from the hot grumpy writer.
