I've lost count of the amount of times I've read this book, yet still it is so compelling and I find it really hard to put down!

This isn't bad so far, but I really hate the inclusion of more modern slang like "on point", which was not at all in common use at the time the book was set.

It's the little things... 😆

You've got a character named Newt and they're making a big deal about not going out at night...

How am I supposed to not put the book down and go watch Aliens instead??

Book: "I was looking forward to soaking up the vitamin D now that I had applied the sunscreen"

Me: *headdesk*

Referring to Bramley as "A post-industrial suburb" is an entertaining way to say "horrible sh*th*le" 😆

And now he has characters arranging books by colour... 🙄

Don't try to make a LotR reference if you haven't read the book...

Normally I'd assume I missed something and go back a bit and read again, but I suspect this is just going to be one of those books that leaves me bemused most of the time... 😆

I'm sure this is a really good book, but good grief, I'm struggling to take it in thanks to the appaling audio narration!

One character I was not expecting to read about in this book, was Pocahontas!

A bucket of water on a fire on an electric hotplate? ARGH!

If you do a 360, you end up back where you started. Going the opposite way is a 180... *sigh* Get it right people!
