The story is getting more intense. Not only do the protagonists have to deal with the cult, but they also have to deal with their own government, which has become so corrupt.

The author uses onomatopoeia often in the book to show when something is in distress.

What I am wondering is why a few of the main characters have their powers?

When I began to read this book, it reminded me of Star Wars. I cannot say much, since I do know much of the plot yet.

Right now I'm wondering if the events occurring in Perdido Beach were man-made. Is it some kind of experiment to see how children are affected by a sudden change of the laws of physics and nature? Although this hasn't been implied, it's a possibility, and it's very unlikely that a divine being caused it.

The book is getting more intense now. The town is now being led by a boy named Caine and his group, and they set rules that are strictly enforced. Sam has been made captain of the firefighters, however he does not trust Caine at all. He feels that he's hiding something that may give some insight on his powers.

The book is still really good. Through reading, I found that the books has four narrators, Sam, the leading one, Lana, a girl who ended up in a car crash, Albert, a boy with several siblings, and Mary, a girl who is taking care of the toddlers in Perdido Beach. What I think will happen next is that eventually, Sam's friends will find that they have superhuman powers like Sam has.

So far, this book has been great. It's refreshing to read a fiction book that isn't set in a futuristic setting, instead taking place in modern California. The book immediately sets the conflict, the disappearance of all the adults. It's unique, and I definitely want to find out how this happened.

Finally, this book is making sense. After several chapters of confusion, the few most recent ones tie together. All of them are connected to one thing, the death of one of the soldiers in a field of feces.

The reason I read the book was because it the description of it was interesting. It said that the book was about a group of soldiers and the hardships they faced in Vietnam. I have a large interest for that war, so I thought I might give it a try. The description didn't lie. Although it's confusing to follow, it definitely makes me think that this Ida group of soldiers in the Vietnam war.

My favorite part of this book is when one of the soldiers is sharing a story about a young woman who came to Vietnam, and what happened to her there.

This book is very interesting. Right now, it's focused on one of the soldiers before the war trying to leave America to avoid going into the military. It does a good job convincing me that it's real.
