Escaping into books before sleeping these days (also trying this status update thingy?) ._.

I like it so far, engaging and clarifying some concepts seamlessly and simply. Smooth.

Never thought a book could resonate so deeply with how I am feeling right from the first page. Elanore is being so raw on these pages, she's not expressing what's happening with any literary gimmicks. she's just putting it there. I liked that, because it felt like a friend telling me about their days, not another literary eloquent clever read that's not as intimate. Felt like letters eventhough it's not.

Didn't realize Edward Hooper's paintings had that much loneliness and isolation to them, but it articulated what you might feel looking at them. liked how Laing is sharing her personal encounters with art while trying to deconstruct loneliness from different perspectives, not just a feeling of isolation and alienation, but as yet another human lens to explore new multitudes of reality, which is productive in a way.

fits with gustav mahler's music in the background.
