Something funky with Nhung, not wrong but odd, like she's acting out, curious about her new surroundings in this place she's about to be tied to, but also that moment where she seemed so fascinated by ZhiHao.
It also seems a little like Cleric Chih is enchanted by her in some ways. Like the bit with the grotesque. A lot of it could be chalked up to Chih being caught up with this pretty girl who is fascinated by them.

Oh, I like Nhung, she's funny and kind and her fears feel very reasonable given the gothic horror vibe the blurb carries. And the way the servants keep shutting Cleric Chih out does a solid job of showing that there's something major going on that they have to help hide, presumably for their own safety.

I'm very much enjoying this one, but also rather frustrated with a scene towards the beginning with Rage's whole deal about her and Ruin not being a couple, only friends and how she doesn't know what would happen if either of them fell in love with someone. It isn't a huge thing and it may be lead up to something else later, but it does sort of itch.

I'm getting real tired of Brill and the whole romance-y deal here. He's alien enough that the things that mark him as bad news to a human are just a thing for the Krom, but he hasn't shared that with Bo so the reader doesn't know either. Plus she's just so ready to take him back after everything. It's not making me any more interested in the book.

Almost through with the stuff mentioned in the blurb. Frustrated by this, the book feels super slow.
