I have never heard such an honest and true account of the first few weeks as a new mother as in the first three capters of this book. It takes one right back there.

oh yes and also, girl you just got completely used by a man for his own goals and purposes and your reaction to it is that you left him alone and disapointed him and that it is all your fault? Again...what is it with these books? And why on earth are they always written by female authors?

Ok so I guess the big reveal in the end is supposed to make the reader understand everything else that happened in the shallow story telling? Doesn't really work for me, I am sorry.

Ok, does Sarah Maas think she is being progressive by writing all those make-out and sex scenes from the perspective of her female main character? Well, sorry to disapoint but she is not. What is it currently with books getting so much audience where the main characters are weak females getting overpowered and played around with by men? And making them like it on top of it. I am not very feministic but this goes far.

I am pretty sure that the author thinks she is being progressive with her sex scenes...well I am sorry but they are horrible. What is it currently with books getting so much attention that sport weak female main characters and their exploits with weird beastly men? 😂

This goes right into the category of "The selection"...the uncomfortably clumsy writing was ok for a while but then the make out scenes started...let this be over soon please.

So I was not very happy with the writing of this book to begin with. But still, I was content... there was a part of me that wanted to know where the story is going. A bit similar to the Selection series...bad writing, not really thought trough story but entertaining. THEN the makeout scenes started happening...seriously...why?!

Really Mr. Dickens, your endurance is admirable. I love your story and your characters but this book is loooooooooooong. Oh well, there is nothing more than getting on with it.

I have to catch up with the english speaking worlds childrens classics. I love this book so much! I haven't felt so happy about a read since I was nine and read "Die Kinder von Bullerbü". It's delightful and lighthearted and cheerful.

I have no idea where this book is going. I like the jumping timeline and the puzzle piece story line. But if you are writting a book that is playing in the real world with real people, for heavens sake research your real places. There is no commercial airport in Lucerne and why would she not be able to speak German if she lives but knows her French? The whole Switzerland Zen Center Routine makes no sense.

Oh Alan Bradley how clever you are! It is delightful how you transport your character into a completely new surrounding. And I was worried about the De Luce series being stuck with her being eleven and twelve in Buckshore.. well looks like you could even write one when she is an adult. Clever!

Currently somewhere in the middle of the audio book and I really feel for the narrator who tries hard to get all those accents right ;-) Intriguing story so far. The characters somehow feel a bit distant to me, I can not really grasp them. But that might be part of the concept. Will now listen on and fold some laundry ;-)

Ok that is maybe one of the books where the audiobook isn't such a good idea...how did I end up in this impregnable jungle of fake scotish accents? And additionally the narrator talks to me like she is reading a story to a two year old. Oh please...leave those pore Scots alone, we would get where the story plays even without discriminating voice acting :-P

I thought I just as well get this over with and start right away with the next book. So far small hopes have been met as Eadlyn is a bit less obnoxious and a bit less self centered and there as been some small political content that moved the focus a bit away from the love stuff...unfortunately it now turns out though that the one boy who is a tailor and knows how to dress immaculately is obviously gay...oh please!

Ok I really don't like bashing authors. I think that everyone who has the determination to write and publish a story deserves a certain base respect. Also everybody reading these books, and that includes me, definitely know what they are getting into. I mean...look at the cover art work for heavens sake. And YES for once you can really judge by the cover. This all said...this book is really, really cringeworthy. OMG!

I really hope that Eadlyns bratty character is conceptual so she can improve over the book...because this is almost painful. Maybe the voice of the audiobook person makes it worse, she does a significant good impression on a ignorant teenage girl.

Oh my...these books are just so silly. And yes I AM way to old for them. But I started the series and I am going to finish it. And entertaining they are, I have to admit. It is a soap opera between book covers. Feels a bit like watching a silly teenage romance. Still...the basic idea is quite interesting, it could be a lot more than it is. Maybe with the new generation?
