I'm finding Shadows of Ecstasy almost unreadable...

LOVE the scene where Satan's boasting about his subversion of Adam & Eve and how devils can rule Earth, and as he waits for cheers and applause he hears instead... hisses. Because they're all changing into SNAKES. Temporarily, as punishment.

More issues with this edition: There is absolutely no information about publication dates of any of the novels. Nothing whatsoever. What passes for a copyright page gives only the ISBN and "(c) 2020 Benediction Classics, Oxford". There's also no front matter or back matter, other than a barebones table of contents.

Gotta love the development of Eve's thought after eating the apple: from generosity (gotta share this bliss with Adam!) to greed/vanity (no, wait, this could give me an edge if I keep it for myself - more desirable, equal or superior!) to fear/jealousy (but if I die, Adam might enjoy life with another Eve- no way!)
