Covers familiar essentials of story and story telling. If you have read some of the story theorists and books that he cites -- Bruno Bettelheim's The Uses of Enchantment, Robert McKee, Syd Field, etc. -- this may not be that valuable or revealing. If you are starting, it does have plenty of examples from classic and contemporary stories where film, stage or novel to cite to keep things interesting.
