Brenna is unlikable. She's an annoyingly rude brat with a total lack of respect for the people who help her stay alive.
This is by far the worst book of the series (so far). It's also boring and even at the 32% mark we have not gotten a good idea of Tharillin's character. At this point he's devoid of personality. This book is really lacking.

Been reading this for almost 3 years. It's annoying but I want to finish because I actually paid for this.

I started reading this back in 2018.. It's 2021, I decided to give it another chance and start from the beginning..
2 and a 1/2 years later it's still pretty disgusting. On pause now, will come back to it after I've read another book.

I know it's YA, but it feels childish. I recorded this as DNF but I've decided to give it another try. Will come back to it after I'm done with another book.

Taking another break from this one to read something else. I don't want to put it in the DNF pile so I'll take my time.

I was thinking of giving this one a solid 4.5, but now that I've gotten some more info and explanation about the major problem plaguing the characters, I just don't know, it's quite a let down. I'm not very interested in reading the last 15%. Can't quit now though.

I should've known this would turn out to be about a girl obsessed with books, and not in the cute way. Why did I choose this again?

I'm getting confused. I don't want to be confused damn it! I thought a slayer was safe once the antidote was administered within an hour after being bitten. Why did it happen in such a short time for J and so instantaneously for Ali? Why?? Don't change the rules right now, pleassssse.

I'm trying to finish this, really trying but I can't seem to get hooked yet. I don't want to quit though. All the reviews I've stumbled upon have praised this book so there must be something awesome about it. I'll stick to it till the end (fingers crossed) but in the mean time I need to read something else to give me energy and enthusiasm before I can tackle this book again.

I said I didn't enjoy book 1 enough for me to get book 2 but... it's on my kindle so why not right?

I'be given up. I feel like there was supposed to be a previous book in this series because I'm completely lost. I honestly have no idea what is going on, who these characters are and frankly I don't have patience to read on just to find out. I think by 5% the reader should have a clear grasp on what a book is about.
