Ugh this story is beginning to get annoying and there are plot holes I am not enjoying!!

Dearly hoping that the heroine grows some balls. She is so confounding atm!

And actually, when your magic starts tingling maybe it’s a hint to use it? Not just tingle?

The thing that annoys me most about magic books is the convenience of it. It works here/ doesn’t work there just to solve the problems that need to be solved easily or not. It’s annoying. Like if you can take out a whole pub of men why can’t you take out a mob too rather than run away and leave someone to their doom because you didn’t just use your magic?? Ugh!!

This is a slog with all the jumping around from
character to character and the fact that I haven’t read them all back to back makes it even harder going. Still a gripping storyline though!

Slow going and not ver motivated to read. Finding myself skimming and not really caring about Rain and Elysetta this time round 😔

Up to 51% but I am slogging uphill through this one. I love Bec McMasters and her writing is amazing but this is a struggle. I think it is because there is no strong one lead character love story. This is like the war that is about to happen but there are so many characters and backstories and links between each. I feel like I’m the one that has lost my memory….

And why does he have to smell like lavender? 😳

Also the fact that there is no connection between the two main characters. Like it’s normal for a mostly stranger to just kiss you and you just carry on like it was normal? No sexual tension at all 😔

At 48% not enjoying. Been wanting to give up for a while but feel bad because it’s not awful writing it’s probably me. The word I am feeling for this book is best described as lacklustre.

The editing in this is atrocious. To the point reading it becomes a nightmare regardless of the quality of the story 😩😩😩

I just want to be done now. The story is dragging and I don’t love the characters enough to be invested in their living dying or falling in love
