I absolutely adore this cast of characters and am getting pretty invested in the storyline

Dialogue, pacing, and world building are immaculate so far

“The creatures are always accusing one another of wanting ‘to eat the cake and have it’; but thanks to our labours they are more often in the predicament of paying for the cake and not eating it.”

Literally all I want is for Katherine and Jane to reunite 😩

So there’s a chapter on Mere Christianity? I guess that’s why they’re sometimes sold together

So far the writing is a bit amateurish imo, but it’s a debut so that’s definitely forgivable. It’s not particularly bad or anything, just that there’s a little bit of info dumping about the setting that could have been a bit smoother.

This book has really pulled me out of my slump, though, and that’s more than other books can say.

Completely & utterly obsessed with this book

I’m already loving this so much!!! Stephen Graham Jones is such a wonderful author. I should just go read his entire backlog.

Part 2 was not as good as part 1 imho, but I’m excited to start part 3

Getting into the “let’s list all the details of Bella’s life” stage of this book

This is nice, but not quite as good as I thought it would be. I don’t have any issues with it, it’s just not quite as entertaining as I expected.

Having a lot of fun with this so far!

I definitely prefer the Rhea sections to the Lexos sections

I think the plot is finally starting to pick up???
