Holden seems to me an angry little man with no plan

DNF. Too long, getting into too much politics.

So far, I could easily walk away from this book. Nothing gripping here.

Wedding preparations are underway! I've enjoyed this motley crew of knitting vampires. This series is my first time reading anything in the "cozy mystery" genre.

Doing a reread of House of Devils in prep from book 3 release on 3/12! For some reason, I only gave this book 3 stars when I first read it last year. And I've come across 2 occasions where the characters had a solid 4 star interaction/conversation. I have no idea what was going on in my life then, but I'm glad I can fix my mistake!

saw the trailer for the movie, kinda skeptical. At least the book is still good!

While some readers complained about the plain writing, I find that it adds to the starkness of the book's atmosphere. Plus, Katniss is from an area where they teach you enough to get by in the coal mines. Being that the book is narrated by her, it fits that the sentences & thoughts are on the simple side. Also, look who published the book & the age range it's geared towards.
