I'm reading this because I follow the person who reads the audiobook on TikTok and love his voice. I really like a lot of it but the least interesting part about this romance book is the romance. Or, I guess, the romantic / love interest. As soon as she turns up, the story gets boring and really predictable. Even the protaantagonist / Evil Aunt is cartoonishly villainous. Hope things even out at the end.

Hmm. This is good but the voice of the woman reading the audiobook isn't doing it for me. Her voice doesn't match the emotion; she reads too...bright eyed? Idk how to 'splain.

I stopped after Strange Dogs because the next story is past where I am in the books and I got distressed about it!

I've never read Wuthering Heights so I can't do any comparisons there. But I really like the writing and the story. The person who reads Heathcliff's chapters is really good. The person who ready Catherine's chapters is good too but also sometimes her voice annoys me. Overall, tight writing and good performances.

I keep facepalming through this book. The author keeps focusing on why disenfranchised people keep sorting ourselves into "tribes" without ever investigating the very real and powerful "tribes" that disenfranchise ordinary people in the first place.
