Calvin Bream is finished with One Shot at Forever: A Small Town, an Unlikely Coach, and a Magical Baseball Season
This has been my favorite book that I have read this year. This is my favorite book because it is about a true baseball story and I like non-fiction books. This is also my favorite book because I got to learn about a small town team in Illinois winning the entire national high school playoffs. I also got to lean more about life in a rural town like that. I really liked the characters because they were always positive

A similarity between the book that I am reading and a book that I have read is character relationships. Both of the main characters are very friendly to the people around them. An example is that coach Sweet in this book never yells at his team because he knows that it will most likely mess up their skill while playing in a baseball game. In my other book, the new European quarterback never yells at his team either.

I would interview coach Sweet. I would interview coach Sweet because I would ask him why he wanted to coach the baseball team. I think that he he would say that he used to play baseball and wanted to help the team out since they didn't have a coach. I would also ask him why he coached the way he does. I assume that his response would be that he wanted the players to get to know each other and they know more then him.

Coach Sweet holds his first practice of the 1971 season. There is news around town that a kid Maycomb went to the war in Vietnam and died. He is the first death for that town. Lots of other families had to go to the war because the war in Vietnam turned out to be a big deal. At the first practice, nine players return to the team. Five freshman also join the team. Coach Sweet later described the team as very thin.

I think that the author is trying to say that if you work hard enough, you will find a way to win. In the book so far, a small town in Illinois named Macon made it to the playoffs for the first time in years. The team's coach has never coached a team before but the team worked hard enough to make it to the playoffs. Eventhough they lost, in the next coming years the team should be able to make it all the way.

I am reading another sports book. I chose this book because it is a true story about a high school baseball team and I wanted to read about how a school that small made it very far in the playoffs. Reading this book shows that I am a stronger reader because it is a longer book than I usually read. There is also many vocabulary words that I don't know so I am improving on my vocabulary.

The most interesting thing that I read this week was that usually the baseball games in Indiana were cancelled because of weather. This week, the coaches decided to play in 39 degrees weather with strong winds. This was unusual in Indiana because they were usually cancelled. Sweet and his team lost their first game. Parents want Sweet to leave town but the kids tell their parents that he needs to stay and teach.

The exposition of my book is so far the most important. It is the most important because coach Sweet is having his first baseball practice. He tells his kids that practice is optional and that the kids get to pick what positions they play in which inning. Coach Sweet has never coached before so he was going to give this method a try. The boys didn't know what to do since their other coach wasn't coaching anymore.

A new teacher comes to the town of Macon, Illinois. At the school he teaches English. One day, Steve S. Takes a carton of tomatoes and starts to throw them at cars with his friend. They were at the top of a balcony so they wouldn't get caught. He and his friend decided to use apples which were harder. He was able to throw 3 apples at the cop car. The teacher heard about this and wants him on his baseball team.

The identity of my character would be gender. His identity would be gender because he wants to play quarterback on his football team. Usually all boys want to play quarterback on their football team to look tough. He didn't get the quarterback spot but he became a lineman. The same thing happened to his older brother but different positions. His coach finally told him that only a man can play the lineman position.

The audience of theirs book would be kids who really like football. The purpose of this book would to tell kids that sometimes your position in football is more important than you think. The boy in this book really wants to play quarterback for the football team but he weighs too much. The coach puts him at right tackle which on the line and he isn't very happy. He talks to his brother and he starts to like his spot.

I can relate to the main character of my book. He is relatable because he plays football. He plays wide receiver and safety. I also play football and those same positions. Football is also his favorite sport. Something that is not relatable is that he broke his friends leg. I have not broken my friends leg before. He also likes to listen to music on his MP3 player. I don't have an MP3 player but I also like music.

Calvin Bream is finished with The Great Quarterback Switch
"The Great Quarterback Switch" was about two twins. They both love football. One twin is able to play and the other can't because both of his legs are paralyzed from a car hitting him on a bike. They go over to their neighbor's house and ask him about ESP. He said that if the connection is strong enough, they will be able to switch places. During a game, the twins concentrate very hard and they switch places.

I would interview Peyton Manning. I would ask him about his game plan against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend because he hasn't played in a month. I think that he would respond by saying that he is going to do what he always does. He could also respond by saying that he needs to step up and make better decisions to win. He is a very good postseason quarterback. His team always steps up at the right time.

Non-Fiction: The main idea of this book is to tell readers about Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning's journey from being a kid to how they joined the NFL. Some supporting details were that they all went to the same high school in Louisiana. Archie and Eli both played football at Ole Miss while Peyton played football for Tennessee. They also broke each other's records when playing football in high school.

The best part of this book is that I got to learn about football in Italy. Italian football only has 90 yards of field unlike the United States that has 100 yards. I also got to learn that most unsuccessful United States football players go to other countries to play football because they love the sport so much. One bad thing in this book was that the author didn't say what happened to the Livy after Rick went home.

This week, Rick and his team are going to play the Bergamo Lions. They have won 67 straight games. The Parma Panthers are looking for an upset. During the first drive, The full back spears the best player on the other team. Rick thought that both of them looked dead but they evenyually got up. Their best player is on the sidelines for now so it is Parma's chance to score. They score and they eventually win 35-14.

I would like to be a character in this story because it is about football in Italy. It would be fun to be in this book because I could learn more about football in Italy. Sincereading this book, I have learned a lot about football in Italy but I think that I could learn more if I was a character in this book. I would be the character that also gets traded to play for the Parma Panthers just like Rick the quarterback.

I think that I am in the rising action, which is after the conflict and exposition because the team is in the middle of the season and have not yet faced their best opponent. The Parma Panthers, which is the Italian football team, has one win with two losses. They were hoping for a really good season, but they haven't been doing great so far. The quarterback had a game with better stats than his career in the NFL.

I am happy about what I am reading. I would give my book a rating of an 8 out of 10. This is because it is very good but sometimes the scene could be described a little more. I would reccomend this book to people who like football. I would recommend this book to people who like football because it is about a quarterback who gets transferred to Italy to play football for the Parma Panthers.

My book is fiction. I would change that instead of the quarterback playing for the Bengals before he moved, he should have played for the Raiders. I want to make this change because the Raiders are defiantly one of the worst teams in the NFL. If he would even get a chance as a third string quarterback to play in a NFL game, it would have to be the Raiders because they are very bad team.

In the conflict of the story, the quarterback gets released from his team and moves to Italy to play football there. He is in Parma, Italy and on a team with people who only speak Italian. Their first game is in two hours and everyone is pumped to have a quarterback that is good and will hopefully win them a Super Bowl. The team doesn't have many big lineman so the quarterback thinks that he will be sacked a lot.

The quarterback is now in Italy. He meets with his team and gets introduced by eveybody. The Panters are very excited to have him on their team. He tells the team that he has never won a Super Bowl but hopes to win his first in Parma, Italy. He starts going through some plays but finds it uncomfortable taking snaps under center. Since everyone on the team is less than 175 pounds the QB might have to run a lot.

I think that the message the author is trying to say is that Italy has a football team. I think that he is trying to tell people that America isn't the only place that has American football. I also think that he wants people to know about Parma, Italy because that is the team that the character is playing for. The Parma Panthers is a real team. The author is trying to inform us about Parma, Italy and the Panthers.

I can relate to the main character of my book because he plays football. I also play football. Something different about us is that he is a quarterback. This is different because I do not play quarterback. Instead of playing quarterback I play wide reciever. Another thing that we have in common is that we both haven't been to Italy. We did have that in common until he went to play football in Italy.

The book tells about why the players only play to play, not for the money even though they're in the minors. They have been going back and forth the majors and minors but they still love baseball. The big idea of the book is that even though a person isn't where they want to be, they still do the sport because they love it.

The book tells about players, umps, and managers that have been in the majors but are now in the minors or vise versa. Some of the players are mad that they aren't in the majors and some are happy that they at least get to play baseball. One quote that is important is "He was another face in the crowd. He was back where nobody knows your name." This means that when your in the minors, not many people know your name.
