Oh my. I almost rated this five stars, but I just can’t. It is a brilliant creation on the one hand, but it is just too much. Too circuitous, too bizarre, with so many characters you have to keep trying to remember who’s who. But I will leave you with the fact that Val McDermid is coming out with a nonfiction book in January related to winter in Scotland. The title is Winter. Look for it.
