I have switched to several translations as I’ve been reading, which has been half of the fun —seeing how different translators interpret the work! Big fan of the Katz version as well as the McDuff! P&V can kick rocks.

Why did no one tell me Dostoevsky is funny? This book reads like a Wes Anderson film (Tenenbaums specifically) and it is delightful. I’m sure it will have it’s moments of seriousness, but so far I have been having a giggle every other page

Man, this is such an improvement over the show. Which is not something I usually say—in most instances the show is leagues better. However, the mystery of what is going on is so compelling here it’s a shame the show revealed what was going on in the first EP of S5.

Scratch everything. I’ve decided the next series I’m finishing is THE EXPANSE. I’ve put it off long enough.

Currently locked in and I need something to read while I work that I know is good and won’t distract me too much. What better book than this—one of my all time favorites. Having a blast all over again. In hindsight, there’s something so melancholy about the first part of this book. Simon will never be this free again. Makes me nostalgic for my own youth in a strange way.

Finished The Wheel of Time. There are tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. My new favorite fantasy series. Incredible. Wow, wow, wow.

I cry every chapter. I cheer every chapter. I have an epiphany every chapter. This is why books were invented. My one and only critique is that Sanderson’s anachronisms are so jarring. “They’re getting stomped.” Robert Jordan would not fucking say that.

This book being one long Sanderlanche is exactly how Wind and Truth should have felt. Every chapter feels like the climax of Endgame. I’m not kidding, there’s even a magic portals scene where a lone warrior gets reinforcements. This is high fantasy at its best. Sanderson went off here and had never been able to do it again, clearly. My fucking god. I’m alive I’m alive I’m Alive

Rand being in an open relationship with 3 people…oh the gay community would love him

Nothing terribly wrong with the story, but I just find it really hard to care about post-WOT

I just started bawling my eyes out. Out of nowhere. This is a first for me with WOT.

Slower than The Gathering Storm, but that makes sense. TGS felt like Knife of Dreams true third act. Towers is a reset and I like that.
